Bank statement converter: PDF to Excel and CSV, with proof the totals add up
Tallyscope turns bank statements from PDF, scans, spreadsheets and bank files into one table, then checks each statement against its own running balance. Your files are read in your browser and are not uploaded.
How it works
- Add your statements. Drop in text or scanned PDFs, photos, CSV, Excel, OFX, QIF, MT940 or camt.053 files.
- See every line and the proof. Each statement is marked Verified, Partly verified, Needs review or Unverified, and rows that disagree with the balances are flagged.
- Export. Download CSV (the Free plan includes the first 25 rows), or Excel, PDF and JSON on a paid plan.
What you get
- One merged table with search, filters, row details and edits, for many files at once.
- A running-balance check that proves amounts and direction, with one-click fixes for flagged rows (how verification works).
- Built-in OCR for scans and phone photos, with repairs applied only when the arithmetic proves them (scanned statements to Excel).
- Statements in several currencies viewed in one, with live exchange rates (multi-currency statements).
- Duplicate detection for overlapping statements and handling of transfers between your own accounts (merge bank statements).
- Headers recognised in about 15 languages, and no template per bank.
- An assistant that answers questions about your table, with numbers always computed in your browser.

Privacy: your statements stay in your tab
Parsing, OCR, verification and conversion run in your browser. There is no upload of statement files, and the site ships a strict Content-Security-Policy limiting which hosts the page can contact. The few network uses, such as exchange rates, optional OCR language models, accounts and the optional assistant, are listed on converting without uploading and in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions
What is Tallyscope?
A browser-based bank statement converter. It reads statements in many formats, shows every transaction in one table, checks each statement against its running balance, and exports to CSV, Excel, PDF or JSON.
Are my bank statements uploaded?
No. Files are read in your browser tab and are not uploaded or stored. The optional assistant features and exchange-rate lookups are the only network uses, and they are described in the privacy policy.
Which formats can I convert?
Text PDFs, scanned PDFs, password-protected PDFs, JPG, PNG and TIFF photos or scans, CSV, XLSX, XLS, ODS, OFX, QFX, QIF, MT940, camt.053 and plain text reports.
How do I know the result is right?
Each statement is checked against its printed running balance. It is marked Verified, Partly verified, Needs review or Unverified, and rows that disagree are flagged. This is arithmetic evidence, not an audit.
Can it read scanned statements and phone photos?
Yes, with OCR that runs in your browser. Heavy blur, glare or very low resolution can leave rows wrong, and those rows are flagged rather than guessed.
Can I combine several banks and currencies?
Yes. Load any mix of files, and view everything in one reporting currency with live exchange rates. Overlapping statements are checked for duplicates and transfers between your own accounts are excluded from totals by default.
Is it free?
There is a Free plan: up to 10 files at once and a CSV export of the first 25 rows. A Day pass costs EUR 9 for 24 hours; Pro is EUR 19 a month or EUR 159 a year.
Does the AI assistant see my transactions?
Not by default. Answers are computed in your browser. If a question cannot be understood locally, only its wording is sent to an AI model. The opt-in Advanced AI features (Day pass and Pro) can send a masked version of your table to Google Gemini.
